This full-colour A5 booklet outlines the history of The Parish Church of St. Michael and All Angels, Great Badminton. To our knowledge it is the fullest published history of the church. The 16 page booklet is filled with pictures of the church and its monuments, with a floor plan on the back cover. It describes the most important features of the church and its monuments of the Dukes and Duchesses of Beaufort and the Somerset family.
Great Badminton’s History details the monuments and memorials of the first nine Dukes of Beaufort, which are to be found in the church, as well as memorials to the famous sons of the 5th Duke of Beaufort – Field Marshal Lord Raglan (commander of the British Forces in the Crimean War) and General Lord Edward Somerset (commander of the Household Cavalry at Waterloo)
All proceeds of Great Badminton’s History will go entirely to The Great Badminton Church Restoration Fund to support its ongoing restoration project to restore the church to its full glory.
