On Friday, 30th June 2017, The Great Badminton Church Restoration Fund (GBCRF) held a fundraising evening in the gardens of Highgrove House. The evening was most generously donated to The Great Badminton Church Restoration Fund by T.R.H. The Prince of Wales and The Duchess of Cornwall, with all profits of the evening being put towards the restoration project at Badminton.

Around 100 guests enjoyed the guided tours around the stunning gardens, with most of the groups managing to complete the tour before the rain started! We were privileged to have been able to enjoy the unique and distinctive areas of the gardens – from the formal gardens close to Highgrove House, to the peace of the Sanctuary, the wildness of the Stumpery, the gorgeous Walled Garden, the unexpected tropical garden, and the natural beauty of the wild flower meadow.

The garden tours were followed by a very successful Champagne reception in the Orchard Room where the guests were able to discuss their favourite parts of the gardens.

The funds raised from the evening will go directly towards the Stonework Phase of our restoration project, which we expect will start this autumn. The exterior stonework, especially higher on the church building is in need of replacement and repair.

The Great Badminton Church Restoration Fund’s Committee is extremely grateful to T.R.H. The Prince of Wales and The Duchess of Cornwall for their support of the Great Badminton restoration project and for allowing us to have such a lovely evening in their gardens.
